What can you learn from TESDA’s content creation course?

by Deanna Macaranas

CONTENT creation is known to be a hit among the digital generation.

Given its popularity, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is now offering a course to further enhance a person’s content creation skills.

In a press release, TESDA Secretary Suharto Mangudadatu said it collaborated with the Kapisanan ng Social Media Broadcasters ng Pilipinas, Inc., to develop the competency criteria for Content Creation (Social Media) Level III.

Mangudadatu said this may be used as a guide by institutions to prepare suitable training programs.

The main competencies include creating concepts for social media posting, translating concepts into multimedia content, and distributing content.

“Virtual networks and communities have enabled us to connect with our audience, build brand awareness, and strengthen engagement,” Mangudadatu said.

“However, the effectiveness of our efforts relies heavily on the quality and relevance of the content we share. In light of this, our content creators must be well-equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to produce compelling and engaging content,’’ he added.

“I am encouraging tech-voc providers to offer courses on content creation using this new competency standard. Many of our kababayans are very talented and resourceful, and I am confident that if given the right skills, they will be better positioned to create content that resonates better with their audience, foster meaningful connections, and ultimately contribute significantly to society,” he said.

How do I enroll?

To enroll in the course, you must be at least 15 years old.

The enrollee must also present a PSA birth certificate, a high school or college diploma, a certified true copy of an official transcript of records, a certificate of good moral character, and 1×1 or 2×2 pictures.

Rosanna Urdaneta, TESDA deputy director general, said course credits can be used in college.

Scholarships are available, although the cost of tuition varies depending on the training facility.
