WATCH: Ne-Yo, Catriona reunite on stage at singer’s Manila concert

by Izel Abanilla

Four years since her monumental win, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray shared the stage once again with three-time Grammy award-winning international superstar Ne-Yo and channeled her signature “lava walk” once again while being serenaded for the second time by the singer during his Manila concert last January 23.

The entire moment was captured by the thousands of fans who watched the sold-out Araneta Coliseum concert. Taken from the clip uploaded by Smart Araneta Coliseum on Twitter, Catriona can be seen gamely going along with Ne-Yo and the crowds.

At first Ne-Yo did not notice that one of the girls he pulled out from the audience to serenade was actually Catriona.

“What’s your name?” he asked.

“My name is Catriona and I actually won Miss Universe in Thailand,” she answered in her familiar ecstatic victorious voice.

When he finally grasped who she was, Ne-Yo said, “I remember you!”

Thereafter, Ne-Yo and Catriona replayed a very familiar scene, he sang and she walked.

And the crowd exploded as the two recreated that iconic Final Walk moment at the Miss Universe as she did her signature “lava walk” while he serenaded the queen.

The RnB singer opened up his successful concert with his hit “Miss Independent” which he sang when he walked hand-in-hand with the former beauty queen during the pageant.

Due to popular demand, concert producer Wilbros Live had announced last year that an additional show will be added to Ne-Yo’s January 23 concert. Both shows were sold-out.

Ne-Yo last performed a sold-out concert in Manila in 2008 also at the Araneta Coliseum.
