INILABAS na ni American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift ang kanyang bagong album na “The Tortured Poets Department.” Pero hindi lang dito nagtatapos ang sorpresa niya sa fans, o mas kilala bilang Swifties.
Ngayong Biyernes (Manila time), inanunsyo ni Swift sa social media na may “double album” ang kanyang highly anticipated 11th studio album. Ito ay ang “The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology,” na naglalaman ng 31 tracks kasama ang 15 extra songs.
“It’s a 2am surprise: The Tortured Poets Department is a secret DOUBLE album,” pahayag ni Swift.
“I’d written so much tortured poetry in the past 2 years and wanted to share it all with you, so here’s the second installment of TTPD: The Anthology,” dagdag niya. “And now the story isn’t mine anymore… It’s all yours.”
May 16 tracks ang “The Tortured Poets Department:” “Fortnight (feat. Post Malone),” “The Tortured Poets Department,” “My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys,” “Down Bad,” “So Long, London,” “But Daddy I Love Him,” “Fresh Out the Slammer,” “Florida!!! (feat. Florence + The Machine),” “Guilty as Sin,” “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can),” “loml,” “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” “The Alchemy,” at “Clara Bow.”
Ang 15 extra songs naman ay ang: “The Black Dog,” “imgonnagetyouback,” “The Albatross,” “Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus,” “How Did It End?” “So High School,” “I Hate It Here,” “thanK you alMee,” I Look in People’s Windows,” “The Prophecy,” “Cassandra,” “Peter,” “The Bolter,” “Robin,” at “The Manuscript.”
Inanunsyo ni Swift ang tungkol sa bagong album niya sa Grammy Awards na ginanap nitong Pebrero. Sinabi niya ito sa kanyang acceptance speech nang tanggapin niya ang Best Pop Vocal Album award para sa “Midnights.”
Sa Instagram, inilarawan ni Swift ang “The Tortured Poets Department” bilang repleksyon ng isang kabanata ng kanyang buhay na tapos na.
“This period of the author’s life is now over, the chapter closed and boarded up. There is nothing to avenge, no scores to settle once wounds have healed,” pagbabahagi niya.
Nagpagtanto rin aniya niya na ang ilan sa mga sugat na ito ay “self-inflicted.”
“This writer is of the firm belief that our tears become holy in the form of ink on a page. Once we have spoken our saddest story, we can be free of it,” dagdag niya.
‘Fortnight’ MV
Bukod sa double album ng “The Tortured Poets Department,” maglalabas din ang 14-time Grammy winner ng music video para sa “Fortnight” na collaboration song niya kasama si Post Malone.
Sa isang post, ibinahagi ni Swift ang kanyang pagkamangha sa mga kanta ng American rapper.
“I’ve been such a huge fan of Post because of the writer he is, his musical experimentation and those melodies he creates that just stick in your head forever,” ani Swift.
Excited din si Swift na marining at makita ng kanyang fans ang music video ng “Fortnight.” Ilalabas ito sa April 19, 8 p.m. (U.S. time).
Bago ang 11th studio album, inilabas ni Swift ang “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” album nitong October 2023.
