Seo In Guk to meet Filipino fans in August

by Joanna Deala

South Korean actor and singer Seo In Guk will hold a fan meeting in the Philippines for the first time this August.

Local organizer Epic Events revealed the Café Minamdang actor’s visit to the country in a Facebook post on Wednesday, along with a song verse: “It’s only for you, just wanna be for you.”

“Are you familiar with this verse?” the organizer asked.

The verse is from the song All For You, Seo’s duet with Jung Eun Ji of the South Korean girl group Apink. All For You is the original soundtrack of teen romance K-drama Reply 1997, in which the two singers starred.

“Save the date this coming August 12, 2023 for his First Fan Meeting in Manila,” Epic Events said with the hashtags #SeoInGukManila #FirstFanMeet

Epic Events first hinted at the possibility of Seo visiting the country on Tuesday, posting a short clip of a hand holding another in silhouette.

Fans were quick to guess that it’s the 35-year-old actor, as the video was from a scene in his 2021 drama Doom at Your Service.

They became sure of it when the local organizer posted another clue of a hand holding a Korean shaman’s brass handbell.

“The excitement is ramping up, done with hanging tight?” Epic Events asked.

The handbell clue refers to Seo’s Café Minamdang drama in 2022, where he played the role of a former criminal profiler who disguises himself as a fortune teller to scam people.

One netizen commented, “Kuko pa lang alam na.”

“My shaman [N]am [H]an Joon coming soon,” another Facebook user said.

The organizer has not yet disclosed details about the venue and selling of tickets.

Seo entered the South Korean entertainment industry in 2009 through the singing competition Superstar K, where he became the first winner. In that year, he released his debut extended play titled, Calling.

He made his acting debut on the small screen as a supporting character in the 2012 hit drama Love Rain. Two months after Love Rain’s airing, Seo landed his first lead role in Reply 1997.

Thanks to dramas like High School King of Savvy, The King’s Face, Hello Monster, and Shopping King Louie, Seo’s popularity kept rising.

He also starred in various films, such as No Breathing and Project Wolf Hunting
