After Netflix teased Filipino fans with the Sexbomb Girls’ hit track Spaghetti song, many speculated that the streaming service would be bringing back the girls’ famous drama anthology Daisy Siete.
But there’s no comeback for the show, after all.
Nevertheless, Netflix users can still rejoice over lower subscription fees.
Netflix, with the help of the OG Sexbomb Girls, announced that it will be offering more affordable rates.
The video, which appeared to hint about a Sexbomb Girls’ reunion, went viral. It paved the way for the announcement of Netflix’ latest move.
Netflix said that from P369, subscribers would now pay only P249. On the other hand, those who are subscribing to the Standard plan would pay P399, down from its previous P459 per month plan rate.
However, the monthly subscription rate for mobile plans that costs P149, as well as the P549 rate for premium plan holders, were retained.

Region-wide development
Netflix said the move is part of the firm’s region-wide update for subscription plans in order for subscribers to enjoy a wide range of movies and international shows using the streaming platform at a “much lower cost.”
Recently, Netflix confirmed that it is planning to roll out its paid-sharing subscription by the end of the first quarter of this year. This would disallow members from sharing their passwords and accounts with other Netflix viewers outside their households.

User reactions
Following the release of the Netflix promotional video, several users, including the die-hard Sexbomb fans, shared their disappointment after their prediction of a Daisy Siete run on Netflix proved to be just mere assumptions.
Others are still hoping that the streaming service would pick up the show, which was a staple for afternoon TV viewers in the early 200s.
Daisy Siete is an eight-year drama anthology series of GMA Network starring former Eat Bulaga dancers Sexbomb Girls. It ran from September 2003 to July 2010.
As of writing, Daisy Siete is a top trending topic on Twitter.
Users said the release of the Daisy Siete series on Netflix would bring back “nostalgic memories.”
Other fans said that if ever the drama anthology is released on Netflix, they could imagine the “backlash” it would face once its “Tabachingching” and “Ulingling” episodes are released.
“Tabachingching” starred Jopay Paguia as an obese lady in the season, while Rochelle Pangilinan portrayed a “taong uling” in the drama-comedy “Ulingling.”
But many more fans urged the streaming platform to release the Daisy Siete series on Netflix after the teaser video.
