THE low pressure area earlier spotted west of Coron, Palawan has left the Philippine area of responsibility, but most parts of the country will still experience rains today, according to the state weather bureau.
The shear line will bring rains in parts of Southern Luzon and Visayas, while the northeast monsoon will bring rains in the rest of Luzon.
Luzon
The Bicol region, Mimaropa, and Quezon will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line, or the convergence of the northeasterly and easterly winds that forms rain clouds.
Floods and landslides are possible due to moderate to heavy rains, especially in areas highly susceptible to hazards and in areas which had recently experienced a significant amount of rainfall.
On the other hand, Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Calabarzon, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, and Bulacan will feel the effects of the northeast monsoon.
There will be cloudy skies and rains in these areas, and the public is advised to watch out for possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains.
Visayas and Mindanao
The Visayas and the Caraga Region will have scattered rain showers and thunderstorms today due to the shear line.
The public is advised to be alert as moderate to heavy rains may cause floods and landslides, especially in areas highly susceptible to these hazards and in areas which had recently experienced a significant amount of rainfall.
The rest of the Mindanao will have isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
Flash floods and landslides are also possible during severe thunderstorms.
Gale warning
Strong to gale force winds associated with the northeast monsoon are expected to cause rough to very rough sea conditions in the seaboards of Luzon, and the eastern seaboard of Visayas.
Waves may reach as high as 5 meters, according to the weather bureau.

- Cagayan including Babuyan Islands
- Isabela
- Aurora
- Ilocos Norte
- Ilocos Sur
- Northern coast of Quezon including the northern and eastern coasts of Polilio Islands
- Camarines Norte
- Northern coast of Camarines Sur
- Catanduanes
- Eastern coast of Albay
- Eastern coast of Sorsogon
- Northern Samar
- Eastern Samar
Fishing boats and small sea craft in these areas are advised not to venture out into the sea, while larger vessels are alerted against big waves.
Coastal waters
The coastal waters in the entire country will be moderate to rough and the wind moderate to strong.
Temperature check
Metro Manila’s temperature will range from 23 to 28 degrees Celsius.
Baguio will be colder at 15 to 21 degrees Celsius, while Tagaytay will be less chilly at 20 to 27 degrees Celsius.
The temperature in Laoag will be from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius, and in Tuguegarao 21 to 27 degrees Celsius.
In Legazpi, the temperature will be from 24 to 28 degrees Celsius, and in Puerto Princesa and Kalayaan Isands 26 to 29 degrees Celsius.
In Cebu, the temperature will range from 23 to 29 degrees Celsius, and in Tacloban and Iloilo 24 to 29 degrees Celsius.
The temperature in Davao will range from 24 to 31 degrees Celsius, Cagayan de Oro 23 to 29 degrees Celsius, and Zamboanga 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
Visayas forecast

Posible ang pagbaha ug pagdahili sa yuta tungod sa kasarangan ngadto sa kusog nga pag ulan. Ang ubang dapit sa Mindanao makasinati sa panalagsang pagdag-um ngadto na sa mapanganuron nga kalangitan inubanan sa pat-ak pat-ak nga pag ulan, kilat ug panalugdog tungod sa Localized Thunderstorm. Kasarangan ngadto na sa kusog nga hangin ang magagikan sa amihanang silangan ngadto na sa silangang direksyon ug ang kadagatan kasarangan ngadto na sa kusog ang pagbalud.
