by Jericho Zafra

A SERIES of professional wrestling matches was held in Makati on Sunday as part of the Filipino Pro-Wrestling Academy program that aims to train aspiring Filipino wrestlers.

The first day of the wrestling academy was held on February 4. It is open to all adults aged 18 and above with no serious medical condition.

Filipino Pro-Wrestling (FPW) is a Philippine-based professional wrestling organization that provides extensive training sessions that help aspiring wrestlers equip themselves with the necessary skills for the sport.

The FPW held a promotion match at the Power Mac Center Spotlight in Circuit Makati on Sunday, February 19.

“Before, we used to train in boxing rings, with no proper ropes and uneven floors. Half of the staff were volunteers, and we just relied on them to put out a product. Now we have a proper training ring that we wanna develop into a full-fledged wrestling training facility,” Ollero said in a separate statement.

He likewise said that the FPW partnered with various production houses in order to stage the show to its viewers.

The next FPW match taping will be held on March 26 at the PMC Spotlight Blackbox Theater in Circuit, Makati.
