WHENEVER you think of Journalism, one of the key elements of this is to effectively share and narrate stories. Through this, the happenings within a day, week, month, or even year get to be documented thanks to the commitment of Journalists who get to write their stories every day.
While the works in Journalism focuses on the areas of the news tackling the topics of current events, republicasia takes on a different approach by narrating the current stories within the Gen-Z perspective.
This approach comes with Gen-Z people narrating the stories of Gen-Z to be shared all around for other Gen-Z to read, to be informed, and to be inspired on.
From trends to tackling serious issues, republicasia not only delivers news that you can trust but also listens to the voices of Gen-Z and what they want to speak out about.
When it comes to tackling a more important issue, delivering the news isn’t the only thing that is being featured in the stories of Republicasia.
Voice in politics
For the upcoming 2025 elections, the digital news outlet created the category #BotongKabataan2025 which tackles the preferences of Gen-Z voters in the upcoming elections.
republicasia tries to know their audience by listening to its thoughts and opinions and with this–comes the answer that can potentially lead society to a better place.
As stated by Jose Rizal, his quote “ang kabataan ang pag asa ng bayan,” comes with listening to what the youth has to say about the country.
Aside from politics, the topic of economy is also something that is considered to be one of the most impactful thing that effects the lives of many Filipinos.
Amidst the topic of 64-pesos equals three meals per day had raised the eyebrows of many Filipinos after NEDA Secretary Arsenio Baliscan stated that individuals who spend P64 are excluded for being “food-poor.”
Along with the daily or weekly budget of Gen-Z students, is the 64-peso budget per day enough to get them through the day? Ever wonder what do Gen-Zs have to say about it?
Within the same topic of economy, Gen-Zs had also come to share the effects of high inflation rates within their budgets–particularly in Filipino students.
Adaptation to current issues
The year of 2024 is known to have multiple class suspensions and if you remember those days back in April to July—you might remember those days when your face-to-face classes has to be suspended due to the scorching heat gifted by El Niño.
One of the most affected by these class suspensions is college students as they are faced with inevitable changes to keep their education running.
Aside from schedule and class modality adjustments, the scorching heat of El Niño also came to affect the mental health of Gen-Zs. Along with researchers, republicasia had invited multiple Gen-Zs to tackle the effects of the unusually hot weather on the zoomers.
The effects of El Niño are known to be one of the hottest topics that’s been talked about by Gen-Zs due to its effects and how it used to be new experience for everyone.
Meanwhile, in terms of staying in one of the hottest topics comes with the question whether it is time for Gen-Zs to be ‘deinfluenced’.
This opened up the topic on whether or not it is time for Gen-Zs to be deinfluenced due to the staggering effects of social media within the lives of Gen-Zs.
