BINI teases possible collab with Zild, Blaster, Unique

by Joanna Deala

Will P-pop girl group BINI and IV of Spades’ Zild Benitez, Blaster Silonga, and the band’s former member Unique Salonga collaborate in the future?

We don’t know the answer yet, but this is what fans have been clamoring for after the Nation’s Girl Group dropped a photo with the trio following its performance at a fundraising event in Quezon City.

In a photo it shared on X (formerly Twitter), BINI could be seen standing behind the trio who were sitting in front of them. The artists were also seen covering their faces with their hands.

“Great catching up with you at #SOLSTICE2024, [Zild Benitez], [Unique Salonga], and [Blaster Silonga]!” BINI said in the caption.

It added, “Collab soon? Emi! Not emi?”

The post sent fans into a frenzy, with many of them hoping for future collaborations between their idols.

“Omggg my IV of Spades heart, si Badjao na lang kulang,” said one fan, referring to the band’s other member Badjao de Castro.

“The impact of this photo to 2024 bubblegum pop enjoyers that used to be pretentious indie music listeners during 2018,” said another netizen.

Meanwhile, an online user commented, “As a mundo enjoyer to becoming a bloom, this hit hard.”

BINI was one of the performers for “Solstice: A Fundraising Concert,” which was held at the Ateneo Junior High School (AJHS) Covered Courts on Saturday, May 4. Other performers included Benitez, Salonga, Paolo Sandejas, Magnus Haven, and The Dawn.

The P-pop idols performed their hit songs “Pantropiko,” “Salamin, Salamin,” and “Karera.”

On X, BINI expressed its love and gratitude for its fans, collectively known as BLOOM, for their support at the event.

“Salamin salamin sa dingding, pwede mo bang sabihin sa Solsisters that we appreciate them saur much! Kilig much sa tropical love!” said BINI.

“Salamat sa mas pinainit at pina-level up na energy, Ateneo community! ‘Til our next bonding!” the group added.

BINI recently reached four million listeners on digital music service Spotify. The octet–composed of Jhoanna, Colet, Mikha, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Sheena, and Aiah–is set to hold their three-day concert, from June 28 to 30, at the New Frontier Theater in Cubao, Quezon City. This followed the release of its latest extended play “Talaarawan.”

About IV of Spades

IV of Spades is a Manila-based rock band consisting of Benitez as a vocalist, bassist and keyboardist; Silonga as a vocalist and lead guitarist; and de Castro as a drummer. Formed in 2014, the band originally had four members with Salonga serving as its lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, but he left the group in 2018.

In 2020, IV of Spades surprised its fans with the announcement that it would take an indefinite leave from the music industry to pursue their “personal interests.”

The OPM band first gained traction with the release of its fourth single “Mundo” in 2018. It is also behind the songs “Ilaw Sa Daan,” “Hey Barbara,” “Ang Pinagmulan,” and “Sariling Multo (Sa Panaginip),” among others.
