A dose of paw-sitivity: Meet Chopper and Leet

CHOPPER, a Filipino pet influencer, captivates viewers in a video approaching one million views as he receives a shoulder massage while staring into the camera. 

Using a computer-altered voice, he amusingly remarks, “As a shih tzu, it’s only natural for me to throw up yellow bile when I don’t get the food I desire.”

On social media, Jona and EJ, the owners of the 2-year-old puppy, stated that they “never planned to make it big.” 

Jona said, “He’s our happy pill, and he always brings happiness to our lives. He’s always cute in our eyes so we take pictures or videos everyday. Our phone storage is always full… so we decided to create a page and Tiktok account to preserve Chopper’s precious memories.” 

With Chopper’s “Shapi Serye” films, in which he poses as a package delivery guy and befriends other delivery riders who stop by his house, Chopper began to gain massive popularity on the internet.

The videos in this series have received almost 3.3 million views on TikTok.

Not to mention, Leet’s cat’s parents did not plan for him to become a social media sensation. Leet is a pet influencer, just like Chopper’s family.

Prior to the 2022 presidential elections, Salva set up the “President Leet” Facebook page. The orange cat was used in skits at the time, impersonating politicians. 

DESPITE THE CHALLENGES

The worst thing about their pet’s internet fame, according to Chopper’s owner Jona, they have to deal with unsolicited hate comments.

The families of Chopper and Leet claimed that despite the difficulties, they are motivated to keep creating internet videos because of their fans’ admiration for their pets.

Leet’s dream and for the other cats is to be an endorser of brands that are not specifically just made for pets.

She also mentioned that she imagines Leet endorsing a big telecommunications brand. 

Meanwhile, Jona added that they wanted to fill the world with Chopper’s cuteness and “paw-sitivity.”
