WE often associate the idea of New Year through colorful firework displays and thus, this became a tradition—a tradition that we all look forward to watching whenever we conclude the year.
While the Christmas season may be over—there is another event that people look forward to celebrating and the city of Manila, Quezon City, and Marikina are inviting you to join the fun.
In the city of Manila—Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan announced the upcoming fireworks display at the Jones Bridge. She said that the fireworks display would last for about 10 minutes and that everyone is welcome to watch as there will be no admission to witness the fireworks.
Witnessing the fireworks display within the area of Jones Bridge may be exciting as we wait for the clock to strike until midnight and for a better view of the fireworks, Mayor Lacuna suggested that the audience should watch it from the Jones Bridge itself.
Mayor Lacuna had also mentioned that they will be throwing a big surprise for 2025’s New Year countdown.

In the city of Marikina–Mayor Marcelino “Marcy” Teodoro mentioned that they set to celebrate the upcoming New Year with a twist.
In Marikina’s tradition–he mentioned that they will start the countdown by December 30.
Starting the New Year’s countdown as early as December 30 may seem unusual to many people but Mayor Teodoro stated that the reason behind it was that the December 30 countdown was for the community while the countdown for December 31 will be dedicated for the resident’s families.
Speaking of twists–Mayor Teodoro had also mentioned that there will be an upcoming concert for the community. He added that well-known bands such as Mayonnaise and local artists from Markina are set to play for the year-end concert.
The year-end concert will be held at Marikina Sports Complex with free admission to all. The pre-program is set to start at 4:00 pm while the fireworks display will be held at 10:30 pm.
As Mayor Teodoro encourages people to join, he also encourages people to follow the mask protocol so that the citizen’s health won’t be compromised.

Meanwhile in Quezon City—Quezon Memorial Circle administrator, Windsor “Manong Chao” Bueno invites everyone to join their year-end program to be held in Quezon Memorial Circle.
The program is set to start at 4:00 pm and is set to be hosted by Allan K, Boobay & Tekla, UMA, and Tuesday Vargas.
Artists such as Vice Ganda and Captivating KatKat are also set to join the party.
Regardless of the event starting at 4:00 pm, the administrator mentioned that the park will be open as early as 5 am.
