STEPHEN Curry’s Curry Brand, powered by Under Armour, recently released a shoe collection honoring the legacy of Hollywood icon and martial artist Bruce Lee. 

In partnership with the Bruce Lee Family Companies, the latest collection coincides with the 50th anniversary of Bruce Lee’s death and his critically acclaimed film, ‘Enter the Dragon.’ 

The collaboration, a year and a half in the making, offered Bruce Lee-inspired design across famous Curry Brand models, such as the Curry 11, the Curry 1 FloTro, and the new Curry SlipSpeed.

The first installment was dropped on November 27 last year to celebrate Lee’s birthday, while the second was on January 5, aligned with the Lunar New Year. The final installment of the collection would be on March 14, Stephen Curry’s birthday. 

The first two releases included the Curry 11 ‘Fire,’ Curry 1 FloTro Luxe ‘Earth,’ two versions of the Curry SlipSpeed, the Curry 11 ‘Wind,’ and Curry 11 ‘Future Dragon.’ 

The collection’s design incorporates colors associated with the four elements (wind, water, fire, and earth) and Bruce Lee’s artwork. 

In a press release, Curry Brand said they wanted to highlight Bruce Lee’s talents outside of martial arts with carefully crafted designs taken directly from Lee’s doodles on movie scripts. 

The design also features some hidden easter eggs that pay homage to Bruce Lee’s historic career, with the ‘Fire’ Curry 11’s dragon-inspired gel reptilian print and ‘Future Dragon’ Curry 11’s black and metallic silver shattered glass that nods to one of the fan-favorite scenes in ‘Enter the Dragon.’ 

Both Stephen Curry and Bruce Lee were born in the Year of the Dragon and have strong ties to the Oakland community in California. 

The first collaboration between the 4x NBA Champion Stephen Curry and Hollywood icon Bruce Lee was in 2020, with the release of the Curry Flow 8 ‘Flow Like Water.’
