THE Local City Government of Taguig gave three centenarians P100,000 who reached 100 years old.

“In Taguig City, every centenarian receives an annual birthday cash gift of P100,000 from the local government–a benefit that continues every year for the rest of their lives,” Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano said in a message.

Cayetano visited and personally handed the checks to Lola Patria Entrada,102, from West Rembo; Lola Carmen Borja, from Barangay Ususan, and Lola Severa Decasa, from Barangay Rizal.

This PHP100,000 cash gift to Taguig seniors reaching the ripe age of 100 was made possible under City Ordinance No. 25 of 2017.

This bonus, Cayetano said,  is entirely funded by the local government unit and is in addition to the national benefit provided under the “Centenarians Act of 2016.”
