“It’s been a thrilling experience to witness the evolution of Korean women artists on Spotify. The exceptional talent they possess undeniably left a mark in shaping the industry, underscoring their profound influence on music in driving global gender equality,” shared Jungjoo Park, Spotify’s former head of Music in South Korea.

In 2021, Spotify unveiled EQUAL Hub on International Women’s Day, marking a significant step in its commitment to promoting gender equity in the music industry and beyond.

From putting music in the spotlight in all corners of the world to podcast suggestions, EQUAL Hub has become a one-stop destination to empower women in music and discover music from diverse voices of women across the globe.

There are over 1,400 songs produced by Korean women artists that have been put in the EQUAL Hub feature, and Jisoo’s Flower is the most streamed track to date.

Last January, NewJeans was chosen as the ambassador of the month for the platform’s EQUAL Global Music Program, which landed their music exposure on the EQUAL Global Playlist.
