No-fly zone to be imposed during Traslacion 2024 – PNP

THE Philippine National Police will impose a no-fly zone as part of the security measures for the annual procession of the image of Black Nazarene in Manila on January 9.

PNP chief Police General Benjamin Acorda Jr. made the announcement on Wednesday following a meeting with Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, representatives from other concerned agencies, and Quiapo Church officials.

Acorda also said the PNP may also use a signal jammer during the traslacion if necessary.

Around 15,000 police personnel will be deployed for the Feast of Black Nazarene, which is expected to draw millions of people as COVID-19 restrictions have already been lifted.

The route for Traslacion 2024 is as follows:

  • Right to Katigbak Drive (left side)
  • Right to Padre Burgos St. through Finance Road
  • Straight to Ayala Bridge
  • Left to Palanca St.
  • Right to Quezon Boulevard
  • Right to Arlegui Street
  • Right to Fraternal Street
  • Right to Vergara Street
  • Left to Duque de Alba Street
  • Left to Castillejos Street
  • Left to Farnecio Street
  • Right to Arlegui Street
  • Left to Nepomuceno Street
  • Left to Conception Aguila Street
  • Right to Carcer Street
  • Right to Hidalgo through Plaza del Carmen
  • Left to Bilibid Viejo through Gonzalo Puyat
  • Left to J.P. de Guzman Street, right to Hidalgo Street
