VICE PRESIDENT and Education Secretary Sara Duterte said Thursday that there would be no penalties for the teacher whose angry outburst at her students went viral on social media.
“Sinabihan ko ang regional office natin na there will be no penalties for the teacher. Just to remind the teacher that if she is angry, she has to pause. Itigil muna ‘yung klase and when she’s not angry anymore, saka siya magklase ulit,” Duterte told reporters in Cambodia.

The Department of Education earlier gave the female teacher 72 hours to explain the incident, which was livestreamed on TikTok and earned various reactions from the public.
What exactly caused the teacher to lose her temper was not immediately clear.
She did, however, make reference to her students’ lack of respect for her teaching duties.
“Ang una kong naging reaction is tao lang ‘yung teacher. Lahat tayo umaabot sa punto na nagagalit tayo lalo na kapag nafu-fustrate tayo. This is especially true sa mga teachers, dahil ang mga teachers natin hindi lang isang tao ang kausap nila. Ang isang klase ay merong from 25 to 45, sometimes 55, students,” Duterte said.
Duterte said that the teacher stated she didn’t know she was online at the time of the incident.
