THE Department of Public Works and Highways had asked the Bureau of Immigration to issue a lookout bulletin against former Undersecretary Roberto R. Bernardo.
DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon said that this is aimed so as not to delay the investigation into the alleged “Ghost” and substandard flood-control projects.
“In compliance with the directive of the President, the Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) seeks the assistance of the Department of Justice (DOJ) and requests the issuance of an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO) against former DPWH Undersecretary Roberto R. Bernardo,” Dizon said.
“An investigation is being conducted on DPWH officials and key officers of construction companies allegedly involved in ghost projects and/or substandard construction of flood control projects. The timely issuance of an ILBO is of utmost necessity to enable the current investigations to proceed without delay and to hold those liable accountable to the Filipino people,” he added.
Dizon also said that in addition to the issuance of the ILBO, they are requesting from the Bureau of Immigration to immediately inform the DPWH and other law enforcement agencies of any information regarding the impending travel of former Usec. Bernardo.
