PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. answered various social issues, including what he dubbed as an “abuse” in the issuance of student visa entries to the country.
The chief executive explained during an ambush interview with media in Iligan City in Lanao Del Sur that they are not targeting or pinpointing any country, but have started strictly enforcing laws to avoid it being abused.

There are moves to amend or totally void Executive Order No. 285 signed by then President Joseph Estrada, where the Bureau of Immigration was given authority to convert a tourist visa to a student visa to allow them for a longer stay in the country.
“Dati hindi natin masyado timitingnan. Nakita natin masyadong maraming nagiging problema like nakakakuha sila ng pekeng dokumento kung ano anong ginagawa may mga iligal. Kaya’t titiyakin natin na kung may papasok tiyakin natin na tama naman sila wag silang nagtatanggap basta nakapasok na sila, maliwanag na hindi hindi marunong mag-tagalog. Yung mga pinapakita ay fake,” he said.
Marcos Jr., said that this is not a crackdown against Chinese but merely enforcing the law.
“Siguro, napapabayan ng iba, nagbayad aila nasuhulan yun ang babantayan matin na hindi na mangyari yan, mabawasan ang incidents ng pagpaaok ninuman not necessarily iisang bansa lang, kung sinumang foreign national at sinasabing Filipino ay talagang tingnan nating mabuti,” he said.
Who is Mayor Guo?
With regards to the controversy surrounding Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, the president said that a thorough investigation into her nationality should be done.
He said that he wanted to find out the truth behind alleged questionable documents that the local chief executive submitted with regards to her citizenship.

“Kilala ko lahat ng mga pulitiko sa tarlac walang nakakakilala sa kanya so nagtataka kami san nanggaling ito, kung bakit, di namin malaman kaya kailangan talaga imbestigahan so kasabay mga sa bureau of immigration, lahat iimbestigahan kasama ang imbestigasyon ng hearing ng senado,” President Marcos Jr., added.
NTF-ELCAC stays
President Marcos Jr., on the other hand rejected calls to abolish the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).
“Hindi a-abolish ang ELCAC, tatapusin namin kasi may iilan pang barangay na hindi pa natapos may ilan pang returnees nq hindi pa nabigyan ng tulong tatapusin namin lahat yan saka natin paguhsapan kung tatanggalin na ang ELCAC kung hindi na kailangan, sa ngayon kailangan pa rin,” he said.
RTL amendments
The president also assured that he would certify as urgent, moves to make amendments to the rice tariffication law.
“Maybe the mechanism maybe diff from what was proposed pero ang net effect pareho pa rin, makakapagimport ang national government, i don’t know, through which agency, and i think we may have found the solution at makikita natin that immediately able to bring down the price of rice,” he said.
Assistance to fisherfolks and farmers
The president led in the distribution of assistance to farmers and fisherfolks, whose livelihood were affected by the drought brought about by the El Nino phenomenon.
Thousands of residents became emotional after receiving the assistance from the President.

President Marcos Jr., had vowed to make sure that no Filipino will be left behind, and everyone will be given assistance especially those heavily incapacitated due to the extreme heat.
