WITH the upcoming traffic rehabilitation in EDSA, transportation secretary Vince Dizon said that the project is more likely to cause a major traffic along Metro Manila’s main highway.
“Malaki at mahabang pagtitiis…
He added.
Dizon stated that detailed plans especially for the traffic mangement woud be released after its finalization–something that the goverment might be able to present next week.
As for the starting point of the rehabilitation, officials from MMDA, DOTr, and DPWH said that it was likely to start “within April.”
However, the schedule could still be adjusted if needed especially its compromising the motorists.
“Walang perpektong solusyon, we just have to plan this well and learn along the way.” Dizon said.
MMDA Chairman Romando Artes said that there was no delay in the project and that extensive meetings were held to avoid carmageddon.
“I can say na walang delay, it’s just that masyadong komplikado yung paggawa nitong EDSA na hindi pwedeng bigla-biglaan ang decision. Kailangan pagtama-tamain, wag magkaroon ng carmageddon at wag maging parking lot and EDSA at buong Manila,” Artes said
According to Dizon, the EDSA rehabilitation could take up to a year and a half to complete its rehabilitation.
Dizon said.
