NCT’s Taeyong Shares Moments With Members Before Military Enlistment

NCT’s Taeyong—also known as Lee Taeyong in real life—shared heartwarming moments with members before his official military enlistment on Monday, April 15.

On Taeyong’s official Instagram page, the NCT leader shared photos of himself in buzz-cut hair with his fellow NCT 127 members and Ten of WayV, a sub-unit of NCT,  before sending him off to the military.

Taeyong first shared his buzz-cut hair in a set of photos he uploaded on Instagram, on Sunday, April 14.

On his Instagram post, he assured the fans and his members that he will be healthy and will be back safely. 

Taeyong is the first NCT member to enlist in the South Korean military, enlisting in the Navy, according to the group’s management company SM Entertainment. 

Taeyong debuted in NCT and its sub-unit NCT-U (NCT United) with the song “The 7th Sense” in 2016. He is also part of the group’s other sub-unit NCT 127, taking the role of the leader and main rapper. NCT 127 debuted with the song “Fire Truck” in 2016. 

NCT stands for Neo Culture Technology, which is known for its concept of expanding members as many as they want.

He also debuted as a soloist in 2023 with the 1st mini album titled “Shalala”. He made his 2024 comeback with the 2nd mini album titled “Tap”.

His main unit, NCT 127 last performed in January for the “Unity” tour at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bocaue, Bulacan. 127 stands for the longitude of Seoul viewed on the world map.

He is expected to finish his mandatory military duties in December 2025.
