Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel showed the world yet again just how Filipino she is by recalling a fond memory she shared with her mother in Tagaytay.
In a now-expired Instagram story, the beauty queen posted a photo of her and her mother, all smiles, enjoying a zipline ride at the popular tourist destination.
The 29-year-old fashion designer, model, and sewing instructor said in past interviews that she grew up going back and forth to the Philippines as a child for vacation.

In fact, she confirmed in an interview that she will be visiting the country again this May.
“Actually, I will be visiting the Philippines soon in May,” she said.
“We’re gonna have a huge event there as Miss Universe, so I’m really excited. Form all the Filipinos tuning in, I cannot wait to meet you,” she added.
Gabriel won the ninth Miss Universe crown for the United States in the 2022 edition held in New Orleans last January. She is the first Filipino-American to clinch the prestigious beauty title.
Unlike the usual partly Filipino-blooded Americans who make it big on the international scene, Gabriel makes her countrymen even more proud whenever she speaks in Filipino.
The Texan beauty queen was born to a Filipino father Remigio Bonzon “R. Bon” Gabriel and an American mother Dana Walker.
During the Miss Universe 2022 pageant held on January 14, Filipino designers Patrick Isorena and Rian Fernandez made her national costume and evening gown, respectively.
Gabriel is set to make a guest appearance in the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 pageant on May 13 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
