Philippine fashion was at peak once again at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

And so on its red carpet, known for its style moments, Filipina beauty and fashion went side by side with global icons.

Among them were Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and Miss International 2016 Kylie Versoza who stunned the world in their showstopping Mark Bumgarner creations. 

Wurtzbach was every inch a Hollywood goddess in a fiery red gown as she showed up for the premiere of Japanese director Hirokazu Kore-eda’s Monster which talks about domestic abuse.

The newly-wed beauty queen was immaculate as ever in a sequin-adorned metallic red gown.  Not a hair out of place. 

A first for Wurtzbach, she said: “Just like the movies. My first time walking the red carpet @festivaldecannes. Somebody pinch me.”

She didn’t stop there. The country’s third Miss Universe channeled fiery as she changed from red to black this time for the premiere of the Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny headlined by American actor Harrison Ford. 

This time, Wurtzbach wore a voluminous strapless black gown still by Bumgarner. 

“Destiny calling,” she said on Instagram. 

Versoza stole the show in a black ball gown adorned with feathers and encrusted crystals. 

She showed up for the premiere of Maïwenn’s French period biographical film Jeanne du Barry starring Johnny Depp in his first role after his high-profile defamation trial.

On Instagram, Versoza said: “Dream come true. Such an honor to walk at the 76th Cannes Film Festival opening night, thank you for having me @festivaldecannes. It was so surreal.” 

Last year, Queen of Creative Collaborations Heart Evangelista too stole the spotlight with her impeccable style. 

Just like Wurtzbach, the luxury fashion influencer turned heads in her elegant red Tony Ward Couture gown.
