LOOK: Alex Gonzaga gets memed in Dinagyang

by Malou Talosig-Bartolome

ANOTHER major Feast of the Sto. Niño is being held this weekend — the Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo City.

In the spirit of fun, the Twitter of Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas memed the controversial vlogger Alex Gonzaga.

Instead of a waiter being smudged with chocolate cake icing, a woman in tribal costume was smothered with the black mud on her face.

Mud-slinging in literal sense of the word has been one of the traditions during the two-weeklong celebration of Dinagyang.

“Ikaw nga galakat lakat lang sa daan, gin lamhitan sang pinta (You, who is just walking down the street, was smeared with paint),” the photo reads.

Ilonggos found the post hilarious.

Sean Louie Nathaniel Sucayan wrote: “Mayor… Pls give the person in charge of this a raise!!!”

“So current and aware gid si mayor ah love it!,” Nieva Alinsangan said.

Rich Alden Lim: “HAHAHAHA ang witty ng creative team nyo. The best to’ mayor!”

Blackpink meme

Blinks, check this out! Even your idols from the Blackpink were juxtaposed in a photo, looking seemingly exasperated in open-air dining area of Dinagyang Festival.

The post was titled, “Food Fest in Your Area” — an alliteration from South Korean girl band’s famous song “Blackpink in Your Area.”

“Ha how you like that?!” Starlyn Pama Mana-ay interjected in the comment box.

KC Tagaytayan couldn’t help but comment, “Blink (Blackpink fan) ang editor? Hahaha.”
