Liquor Ban,  Road Closure in November 9 Bar

MANILA, Philippines – The city government of Manila released an order prohibiting the drinking of liquor and closing down roads for this year’s bar exam that will begin tomorrow, November 9, and continue on November 13, 16 and 20.

Liquor will be banned within the 500 meter-radius from the location where law graduates will take their exam. The chosen schools for the assessment are San Beda University and De La Salle University.

For San Beda, starting 2am up to 8am and from 4pm to 7pm, Mendiola street will be closed. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th streets will also be closed the whole day. Residents of Concepcion Aguila will be allowed to access the area, but only one lane will be open for them.

For DLSU, Taft Avenue’s northbound lane will be closed from 2am to 8am and from 6pm to 6pm. The southbound lane will be closed from 2am to 7pm

From midnight of the day of the exam until 10p.m of the day itself, the liquor ban will be imposed.


Vendors, loud sound systems such as karaoke and clubs will also be banned.

According to the Supreme Court,  9,916 law graduates are scheduled to take the bar  this year.
