by RepublicAsia

THE Joker 2 sequel trailer is dropping soon!

Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn gets romantically dipped by Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker in an eerie new poster for Joker 2, aka Joker: Folie à Deux.

Since Joker: Folie à Deux will be the only upcoming DC movie to release in 2024 according to Warner Bros, the marketing campaign is getting ready to start, as the first official poster for the Elseworlds-based movie has been revealed.

Warner Bros. Pictures took to Twitter this morning with a one-sheet teaser to announce that the official trailer for the Joker sequel is set to premiere during its CinemaCon presentation on April 9th.

Directed by Todd Phillips, the movie follows the legacy of the first Joker movie, which became a smash hit and was one of DC’s biggest success stories, reaching critical acclaim and earning several accolades, including two Academy Awards for Best Original Score and getting Joaquin an Oscar for Best Actor.

Now Gaga has stepped into the franchise in the role of Harley, the Joker’s wild-spirited lover from the Batman comics. The ”Bad Romance” singer also posted on Instagram the same poster with the caption, “The world is a stage. Joker: Folie à Deux trailer coming April 9.🃏” The pop star and actress was first announced to be joining the cast back in August 2022, months before they were first spotted filming in and around New York City.

Meanwhile, the poster showcases “The world is a stage,” the tagline, the name of the film, and release date are read just above an image of Phoenix in a tuxedo with infamous clown makeup, holding a burning cigarette in his hand while dipping Gaga backward as they dance under a bright spotlight. The image also shows smeared red lipstick over Gaga’s face, indicating that she might’ve smooched it off the face of Phoenix’s Joker.

When does Joker Folie à Deux premiere?

The movie drops in theaters in October. 4, 2024, in the United States. Warner Bros. has yet to announce or share details about international release dates and if they differ from the U.S. release.
