Is Francine Diaz collaborating with Korean actor Seo In-guk on a new project?

by Joanna Deala

FILIPINO actress Francine Diaz surprised netizens with a dance video featuring South Korean actor Seo In-guk. But social-media users speculate that this isn’t the only collaboration that the two celebrities will have.

The 19-year-old actress posted the clip on Instagram, showing her and Seo grooving to simple dance moves.

In the caption, she wrote, “See you next month, My Love!” along with a winking face and a heart hands emoji.

Well-known personalities like Miss Universe Philippines 2014 MJ Lastimosa and celebrity doctor Vicki Belo reacted to the video.

“Grabe sa ‘my love’ nambabakod,” commented Lastimosa.

“It’s so cute,” said Belo.

Diaz posted the same video on TikTok and it has gained 11.3 million views as of writing.

Several netizens couldn’t help but feel jealous yet happy for the actress.

“GRABE SEO IN GUKKK. Pinapanood ko siya sa death’s game tas ka tiktok mo lang?!” one Instagram user said.

“Prayer reveal francine!!!” another netizen wrote.

“Francine ‘pinagpala sa lahat’ Diaz,” one social media user added.

While there is nothing confirmed yet, some are speculating that Diaz and Seo will join forces on a project.

“Ano kaya drama or series [n]ila myghad nakakaiyak sa excitement,” said a netizen.

“I knew it. Sya yung kasama nya sa new project. That’s why nasa korea si chin nung nakaraan. Excited na kooooo,” said another Instagram user.

New song

It can be recalled that the Gen Z actress traveled to South Korea last year.

In November 2023, Diaz shared with ABS-CBN News that she would record a song in South Korea and that it will feature a South Korean artist.

“Para siyang English version ng isang Korean song. Pero ‘yun pa lang po yung pwede ko munang sabihin,” she said.

She added that the production team aims to film it both in South Korea and in the Philippines.

On December 29, Diaz shared several photos of her during a trip, and a sheet of paper where the text was covered. She captioned her post with a musical note emoji.

Diaz, who is known for her roles in television series “Kadenang Ginto” and “Dirty Linen,” released the song “Pag-Ibig” in 2019 under Star Music.

Meanwhile, Seo is widely recognized as an actor in hit Korean series such as “Reply 1997,” “High School King of Savvy,” “Shopping King Louie,” “Doom at Your Service,” “Cafè Minamdang,” and “Death’s Game,” among others.

He is also a singer-songwriter known for his soundtracks “All For You” featuring singer-actress Jung Eun Ji, “Distant Fate,” and “Fallen.”

Seo’s last visit in the Philippines was in August 2023 for a fan meeting, where he serenaded his Filipino fans with his rendition of “Ikaw” by OPM singer Yeng Constantino.
