In her acceptance speech, Lustre said she dedicates her award to individuals behind “Deleter,” including filmmaker Mikhail Red.
“It’s so good to be back on the stage. Gusto ko pong pasalamatan si Direk Mik. Direk, thank you so much for allowing me to collaborate with you into bringing my character in ‘Deleter,’ si Lyra, into life,” she said.
Lustre also thanked Viva Films, her supporters, her team, and her boyfriend, Christophe Bariou, for “always pushing [her] when [she is] down in the dumps.”
Meanwhile, Baron Geisler was named Best Actor for his role in the 2022 drama movie “Doll House,” giving life to Rustin, a troubled rock singer who suffers from drug addiction. He introduces his other persona, Clyde, in a bid to rekindle his relationship with his long-lost daughter, Yumi.
Geisler dedicated his award to everyone “chasing their dreams” and “believes in second chances.”
“Mas naintindihan ko na ngayon kung bakit ako pinlace ni God dito. Isipin niyo noon, bulakbol, nambababae, at kung anu-anong mga bisyo, pero ngayon, lahat ng iniipon ko at nakukuha ko sa trabahong ’to ay nabubuhay ko na yung mga anak ko, kaya sobrang laking pasasalamat ko talaga sa industriyang ito,” he stressed.
“Deleter” earned nine other nominations at the 39th Star Awards for Movies, including Movie of the Year and Movie Ensemble Acting of the Year.
“Doll House,” on the other hand, had 10 other nominations, including Indie Movie Ensemble Acting of the Year.
