GLOBAL pop icon Lady Gaga has returned to the concert stage for the Asian leg of her “MAYHEM” tour, in support of her newest studio album.
After 13 years, the singer-songwriter met her Singaporean fans anew on Sunday, May 18, during the first day of her “MAYHEM” concert at the National Stadium. Lady Gaga last performed in Singapore in 2012 for her “Born This Way Ball” world tour.
The concert did not only feature her new songs from the “MAYHEM” album—including “Abracadabra,” “Die With A Smile,” and “Disease”—but also her classic hits like “Bad Romance,” “Born This Way,” “Paparazzi,” “Poker Face,” and “Shallow.”
Among the show’s highlights was when Lady Gaga brought out the Singapore flag from a balcony and delivered a message to her fans.
“Singapore, I love you so much. The last time we were here was for the ‘Born This Way Ball.’ Did anybody here go to the ‘Born This Way Ball?'” she asked.
Lady Gaga continued, “I remembered how special that was. I love it here so much. I always build beautiful memories; memories that stay with me all the time. You are so special to me. My Little Monsters in Singapore, thank you for coming to our show.”
Another notable scene on Sunday night was when the “MAYHEM” concert somehow turned into a fashion show. Several Little Monsters came to the musical event in their head-turning outfits with intricate designs, following the footsteps of the fashion icon “Mother Monster.”
Filipino ‘Little Monsters’ at the concert
One of those who caught attention at the event was Filipino comedian and television host Vice Ganda, who stunned in a blazing red outfit. The “It’s Showtime” host also carried a cane to complete the look.
Meanwhile, the “MAYHEM” concert would be a one-for-the-books moment for Filipina drag queen Lady Gagita, who posed for a photo with her idol.
The “Drag Den Philippines” alum shared a clip on Instagram, showing her calling Lady Gaga multiple times before she finally caught the singer’s attention and took a cheek-to-cheek selfie with her.
“Waited for 15 years and now destiny happened,” said Lady Gagita, the Philippines’ known impersonator of the “Telephone” hitmaker.
Lady Gagita also made her selfie with Lady Gaga her profile picture on her Instagram account.
Vice Ganda’s “It’s Showtime” co-host Karylle also shared some clips of her attending the “MAYHEM” concert in Singapore with her husband, Spongecola frontman Yael Yuzon.
‘MAYHEM’ concert dates
Lady Gaga will perform again at the National Stadium today, May 19. It will be followed by another show on Wednesday, May 21, and Saturday, May 24, in the same venue.
Singapore is the only Asian country included on Lady Gaga’s “MAYHEM” concert tour. After this, the singer-songwriter will kick off “The MAYHEM Ball Tour” across North America, the United Kingdom, and Europe next month, with a three-day show in Las Vegas, Nevada, from July 16 to 18.
The tour comes after Lady Gaga released the “MAYHEM” album on March 7, which followed her “Harlequin” album in 2024.
The 14-time Grammy winner previously praised Filipina drag queens Precious Paula Nicole and Popstar Bench for their “Abracadabra” performance, calling them a “superstar.”
