Fan meetings you should go to in August

by Joanna Deala

Ever since live shows came back, not a single month has passed without an announcement of international artists coming to the country to meet their Filipino fans.

No one is complaining, though. But with all these nonstop event announcements, it can be a bit confusing to track down who’s going to hold their show next. If you specifically want to go to fan meets, then this list is for you.

Here’s a lineup of artists who will host a fan meet in August:

My School President

For the first time ever, the cast of the hit Thailand boy-love (BL) series My School President will be flying to the Philippines for their fan meeting.

The nine cast members — Gemini Norawit Titicharoenrak, Fourth Nattawat Jirochtikul, Winny Thanawin Pholcharoenrat, Satang Kittiphop Sereevichayasawat, Ford Arun Asawasuebsakul, Prom Theepakon Kwanboon, Captain Pheerawit Kollkang, Mark Pakin Kunaanuwit, and Aun Napat Patcharachavalit — are expected to deliver “a night full of music and celebration” with their sing and dance performances.

My School President is a 2022 Thai series that tells the story of student body president Tinn and music club head Gun who got entangled in a romance that started when the former was instructed by their principal to dissolve clubs that don’t boost their school’s reputation.

Topping that list of organizations to be axed, Gun becomes desperate to save his music club, and the only way to do that is to seek help from Tinn.

The price range for the fan meet is from P2,500 to P18,500. Fan benefits include a private photo, group photo, signed poster, hi-touch, official event poster, souvenir card, and event ID with lanyard.

My School President first fan meeting will be held on August 5 at the UP Theater in Diliman, Quezon City.

Jung Hae-in

Snowdrop star Jung Hae-in is coming back to Manila to meet his fans for the third time.

The Philippines is among the countries included on the South Korean actor’s The 10th Season fan meeting tour. His first fan meet in the country was in 2018, and his second was in 2019.

Jung is also known for his roles in While You Were Sleeping, Prison Playbook, Bride of the Century, Something in the Rain, and D.P.

Ticket prices for Jung’s fan meet range from P3,400 to P11,000. Filipino fans can have a signed poster, signed polaroid, group photo, and goodbye session with the actor, depending on their ticket tier.

In a video posted by Viu Philippines on Twitter, the actor said that he hopes to have a good time with his Filipino fans during the event.

The 10th Season fan meeting is scheduled for August 6 at the New Frontier Theater in Cubao, Quezon City.

Seo In Guk

In the second week of August, it will be South Korean actor Seo In Guk’s time to serenade his fans, collectively known as Heartriders.

The actor’s first fan meeting in the country was revealed by local organizer Epic Events through a series of hints about Seo’s past works that Heartriders immediately picked up.

Seo is known for starring in K-dramas such as Reply 1997, Doom at Your Service, Café Minamdang, High School King of Savvy, The King’s Face, Hello Monster, and Shopping King Louie, among others.

Aside from acting, Seo is also a singer who started his career in the South Korean entertainment industry as the first winner of singing competition Superstar K.

Tickets prices range from P4,803 to P12,273. Fan benefits include a signed poster, Hi-Bye session, group photo, and soundcheck.

Seo’s first Manila fan meet is on August 12 at the New Frontier Theater.

Tor Thanapob

Filipino fans of Thai Lakorn are also in for a treat as The Last Promise star Tor Thanapob will step foot in the country for his first fan meeting.

The Thai actor announced it himself in an Instagram post, saying, “Ikinagagalak kitang makilala, Manila.”

Tor entered the Thai entertainment industry in 2012 with his role in Club Friday The Series 1. Since then, more television projects have come his way including Hormones, O-Negative, Leh Lub Salub Rarng, Man of Vengeance, The Giver, and Midnight Museum.

He also starred in films such as The Swimmers, May Who?, One for the Road, and Ghost Lab.
