THIS 2025, a new animal zodiac sign will slither its way to bring good luck and new opportunities to people: the Wood Snake.
The snake is the sixth sign in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac, following the dragon. Those born in 2025, 2013, 2001, 1989, 1977, 1965, 1953, 1941, and 1929 are under the Year of the Snake.
According to feng shui expert Master Hanz Cua, 2025 is the year of the “Yin Wood Snake,” which he likened to vines that spread by climbing up trees or crawling on the ground.
“[Ang vines] kumakapit, nakikipag-collab, [o] nakikipag-partner sa mga malalaking branches para ma-reach niya ‘yung goal or ‘yung top,” Master Hanz told republicasia, advising people to learn how to collaborate, connect, or socialize with others as these characteristics will be their “key” to success.
Snakes are commonly associated with betrayal; this year, people may experience deliberate disloyalty in their relationship or business. This is why Master Hanz warned everyone to be cautious with their investments, especially if they are offered easy money.
“This might be a scam, dahil ang 2025 [ay] year of ahasan,” he stressed. “Kaya [sa] 2025, dapat ding bantayan ang scam, cheating, or betrayal.”

BINI Maloi
Birth date: May 27, 2002
Chinese zodiac: Year of the Water Horse
Master Hanz said 2025 might be a “great year” for those born in the Year of the Water Horse—like BINI member Maloi Ricalde—to expand their network and be hands-on in their career because they possess the victory and success stars in the Year of the Wood Snake.
“Nasa iyo ang tinatawag nating maraming good friends, maraming makikilalang bago. ‘Yung mga kaibigan mo rin, luma man o bago, ay magdadala ng posibleng oportunidad,” the feng shui expert predicted.
It might also be a good year for them to pursue love.
“[Sa] love life ganon din—may blessing star. So, may relationship sa 2025 sa Water Horse this year because blessing star [is] activated,” he said.
Maloi and other BINI members Jhoanna, Aiah, Colet, Gwen, Mikha, Sheena, and Stacey will embark on a world tour, which will kick off at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan in February 2025.

Like Maloi, actress Belle Mariano has the victory and success star that may help her career thrive this year and a blessing star that may guide her in love.
“Pagdating sa career ngayong taon na ‘to, meron siyang blessing,” Master Hanz said. “Ang mga Water Horse meron siyang friends, networks, mga influence na tutulong sa kanya para ma-built ang blessing.”

The Year of the Wood Snake may also bring good opportunities for those born in the Year of the Earth Rabbit—like “Dilaw” hitmaker Maki.
According to Master Hanz, they possess the wealth multiplication star this year, giving their promotion star a “strong energy.”
In addition, the feng shui expert said the earth element is “influential” in a romantic relationship.
“Ang influence niyo po ang social media. Gagamitin niyo po ang connections niyo, ang power niyo, authority niyo to find the love of your life,” he advised.
However, he said they should not be “too controlling” in their relationship.
Maki, who recently released his latest single “Bughaw,” will bring his solo concert to Cagayan de Oro in May. But before this, he will join BINI as a guest performer in its “BINIverse” world tour next month.
Andrea Brillantes
Birth date: March 12, 2003
Chinese zodiac: Year of the Water Goat
It seems that money won’t be a problem for those born in the Year of the Water Goat, such as Gen Z actress and entrepreneur Andrea Brillantes, because their wealth will be “very strong” in 2025, said Master Hanz.
“Ang goat this year maraming pera. Magaling [at] madiskarte si Blythe pagdating sa usapang career or negosyo,” he pointed out, suggesting her to be hands-on in her career so that money will come in continuously.
Master Hanz highlighted that Andrea, or Ramona Anndrew Blythe Gorostiza in real life, might have a lot of friends and connections who would help her boost and promote the products she offers. Off camera, Andrea is the chief executive officer (CEO) of a makeup brand called Lucky Beauty.
But will Andrea have the same luck in love this year? Master Hanz said being in a romantic relationship might not be a priority for those born in the Year of the Water Goat in 2025.
“Kung ikaw po ay single, aba, mas busy ka ngayon para maghanap ng pera bago pa ang love life,” he said. “Kung ikaw naman ay may ka-relasyon na, make sure to balance love and money.”

In love, the feng shui expert said 2025 might be a good year for Carlos to bring his relationship with his girlfriend Chloe San Jose to the next level.
“Ibig sabihin, pwede nang magpakasal o mag-level up kung ano mang level up gusto niyo sa relationship o kung ano mang status niyo sa relasyon,” explained Master Hanz.

Master Hanz advised everyone to protect themselves from fire-related accidents that may happen this year, as the snake has the element of fire that is fueled by wood.
Master Hanz mentioned the destructive wildfires that erupted earlier in January across Los Angeles, California, which have claimed dozens of lives and damaged thousands of infrastructure in the area.
Another thing that people should take care of is their health, as the illness star is at the center of the Year of the Wood Snake’s flying star energy.
“Ang 2025 natin dapat ingatan o bantayan natin ang kalusugan,” said Master Hanz. “‘Health is wealth’ ang mantra natin, kaya naman sumunod sa payo ni doc, sumunod sa mga gamot na binibigay ni doc, ‘wag matigas [ang] ulo.”
