A new drag superstar has emerged.
During the announcement of the winner hosted by Paolo Ballesteros, Captivating KatKat couldn’t help but burst into tears right after hearing her name declared as The Philippines’ next Drag superstar.
She is one of the transgender women contestants to participate in the Drag Race aside from Bernie and M1ss Jade So. And upon her performance, she had earned two points prior to the finale.
After an intense “lip sync for the crown” battle, Captivating KatKat who’s also known as KatKat Dasalla won against Arizona Brandy with her performance of “Kapangyarihan” by iDolls.
Arizona Brandy was later crowned as the first runner-up.
KatKat was later crowned by Precious Paula Nicole—season 1 winner of Drag Race Philippines. Upon KatKat’s victory, she received a whopping amount of P1,000,000 and a year’s supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills Cosmetics.
Drag Race Philippines season 2 premiered on August 2 and can be watched on HBO Go. Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Tom Campbell, and RuPaul Charles serve as Executive Producers on the series.
