FOR anyone who is facing battles, there is a new song from indie folk-pop band Ben&Ben that may give you strength to power through.
The nine-piece group announced on Saturday that it will be releasing a song called “Courage,” an acoustic track it dedicated to struggling individuals.
“Walang pinipiling panahon ang pangangamba/anxiety. Malayo man ang narating mo sa buhay, o pasimula ka pa lang, may mga araw talagang lalamunin ka ng takot,” it wrote in a lengthy Instagram post.
“Minsan, parang wala nang solusyon sa sunod-sunod na pagsubok, tas gusto mong umayaw na lang.” it continued.
Ben&Ben said it felt that many have been feeling this way in recent days, which is why it wrote a song in hopes of giving these people courage.
The group said that it also dedicates Courage to those who are working hard to achieve their dreams or to survive, those who are pulling all-nighters for their upcoming examinations, breadwinners of their families, parents who are the support system of their children, and those who are dealing with their silent battles.
“Sumulat kami ng kanta na sana sa kahit maliit na paraan, makatulong sa pagbibigay-lakas para magpatuloy tayo kahit mahirap at puno ng pagsubok ang daan,” it said.
The indie folk-pop band assured everyone that their hard work will pay off soon and it will all be worth it.
“Sa nagbabasa nito, naniniwala kami sa’yo. Makakayanan natin ‘to!” it added.
The acoustic version of Courage will be dropped on October 9 at 12 noon.
Ben&Ben first gave a snippet to its new song through an Instagram post on September 22, featuring its twin vocalists Miguel Benjamin and Paolo Benjamin.
The two could be heard singing to the song’s chorus with the lyrics, “All your struggles will be worth it in the end; Keep carrying on with courage; Your breakthrough is arriving; Until then, keep carrying on with courage; Keep carrying on; Keep carrying; Keep carrying on with courage.”
In another Instagram post, the Benjamin brothers shared a Tagalog version of Courage.
The song resonated with many netizens, as they shared their own struggles in the comment section of the post and how Courage made them feel relieved from all their worries.
Courage is the second song that the band will release this year, following Could Be Something in June.
#BenAndBenSaTapat continues
Courage is also among Ben&Ben’s surprises to its fans, collectively known as Liwanag.
On September 2, the band launched its #BenAndBenSaTapat initiative, where it paid a visit to a fan and held a live and exclusive concert right in front of her house.
This was followed by Ben&Ben’s performance on a basketball court in front of a school.
“Iba rin yung feeling na ma-meet namin kayo, nagpapasalamat kami sa inyong lahat sa pagkinig sa music namin at sa pagsuporta samin simula noon pa,” the band said in its September 5 post.
The nine members took their #BenAndBenSaTapat initiative in a coffee shop in Toronto, Canada. Ben&Ben performed in Toronto on September 10 for its Could Be Something international tour.
They are currently in Sydney, Australia for their concert on October 8. This will be followed by another show in Dubai on October 14.
