What’s in store for the Year of the Wood Dragon?

by Joanna Deala

CHRISTMAS has just ended, and Filipinos are now preparing to welcome 2024 in a few days.

People are flocking to the markets to either buy ingredients or place their orders for their media noche, an annual tradition that begins at midnight on December 31 where families gather at one table to feast on a large spread of food as they welcome the new year.

Of course, the food served at the table will have to include the ones that they believe will bring in good luck, including the 12 kinds of round fruits. Perhaps, some of them are already preparing their polka dots-designed clothes they will wear and the coins they will scatter around the house on New Year’s Eve, as part of Filipino New Year traditions.

2024 will be the Year of Wood Dragon, and it will surely have a lot in store for everyone. But to give us an overview of what is coming, here’s Feng Shui expert Master Hanz Cua to share more about the Year of the Wood Dragon.

An ‘aggressive’ zodiac sign

Master Hans told republicasia that the Year of the Wood Dragon will be totally different from the Year of the Water Rabbit in 2023.

He described the Wood Dragon as “aggressive,” compared to the Water Rabbit which is “calm.”

“Si rabbit kasi kapag nakikita mo siya, siya yung ja-jump palayo,” the Feng Shui expert said.

“Si dragon, siya yung mas nagja-jump papasok, siya yung mas aggressive, nagfa-fight siya. Hindi parehas ni rabbit na siya yung nago-off, ito naman yung pumapasok, nag-a-attack mode siya,” he continued.

With this characteristic, the Feng Shui master predicted that there could be more conflict that would arise next year.

“Nakita ko rito sa dragon natin mas aggressive ang chart natin dahil nasa gitna ng flying star feng shui natin yung tinatawag nating hostility, anger, misunderstanding, and conflict,” the Feng Shui master said.

He continued, “Kaya mas marami o possibility na mga conflict, away, o gulo sa 2024 natin.”

Head-on confrontations among couples

The dragon’s aggressiveness affects the love aspect, especially among couples, said the Feng Shui expert.

2023 saw many celebrity couples breaking up, including Miles Ocampo and Elijah Canlas, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, and Kim Chiu and Xian Lim. This all happened in the Year of the Water Rabbit which is already a sign of love and fertility, according to Master Hanz.

In 2024, he predicted that there would be more couples who would confront each other aggressively.

“November, December, maraming hiwalayan this year,” he noted. “Pero ang mangyayari ngayon is more on aggressive sila.”

“This time around posible naman po na mas maging head on sila, mas mainit ang ulo nilang dalawa,” he added.

Master Hanz advised couples to extend their patience and become more understanding. He also said that it is good for them to use Feng Shui in their homes, particularly in their bedroom, to enhance their romantic relationship.

In terms of career, Master Hanz said that “fire-related” jobs will be popular next year.

He emphasized that these jobs are those that are related to technology, including robotics, content creation, and social media.

The Feng Shui expert highlighted that 2024 will also be a year of “learning.”

“Pagdating sa career kailangan nating mag-venture o mag-expand. It’s a new year, new period,” he said.

“Mabilis ang movement pagdating sa career kaya ‘pag sa career mo may chance ka to learn more, mas i-try mo sa career yung mga automation, yung robotics. Gawin natin ‘yun para mas ma-attract natin yung tama sa career natin,” he advised.

‘Missing’ or inadequate wealth element

For 2024, Filipinos will have to exert more effort to earn more money.

This, as Master Hanz saw that the wealth element for the Year of the Wood Dragon is either “missing” or inadequate, compared to the previous year which had many radiant elements.

“This year, kailangan nating mas dagdagan ang sipag, tiyaga at determinasyon dahil ang chart ng 2024 natin, si dragon, is missing o kulang ang wealth element natin so hindi siya ganon kadali,” he said.

To attract wealth, he advised individuals to display dragon lucky charms and put them in the southeast direction. It is also good to have a Pi Yao or Arowana in the north direction and a wealth buddha in the east direction.

Consult doctors for health issues

If experiencing health problems, Master Hanz said that it is better for individuals to immediately seek professional advice from their doctor.

“Sa usapang aspektong kalusugan, hindi expert si Master Hanz Cua. Ako’y tagabigay gabay lamang po base sa mga stars. Magpunta agad kayo sa doctor,” he stressed.

But the Feng Shui expert hopes that respiratory illnesses will not worsen in 2024.

“Covid will be there–‘wag naman sana, pero base sa chart, posibleng lumala pa raw o mas mag-evolve pa, mas maging strong pa yung issue na ‘to,” he shared.

He specifically advised those who were born in the Year of the Dragon and Year of the Snake to monitor their health.

“‘Pag may sakit kayo ‘wag kayong matutulog with your headboard on the southeast direction,” he said.

He added that holo medicine buddha or holy gourd would help in curing their illness next year.

Tips to attract luck

The lucky color for 2024 will be either blue or violet, and wearing clothes in these colors will enhance a person’s luck, said Master Hanz.

“Yung office natin, bahay natin, may touch of violet will also might boost also yung luck natin,” he added.

People are also advised to declutter before 2024 comes in.

“Bago pumasok yung bagong taon natin dapat nakapag-ayos na tayo ng gamit natin para pumasok swerte. Gawing maliwanag, maingay, masaya ang bahay natin,” he stressed.

He continued, “Ipa-Feng Shui ang bahay, tindahan, negosyo.”

Master Hanz said that the Year of the Wood Dragon is “not a lucky year,” and that it will “not be easier.” But as he always says, his readings are just a guide and our success will still be in our hands.

He reminded everyone: “Kailangan natin ayusin yung sarili pa rin natin.”
