PASIG (News Release): F2 Logistics made it two wins in a row in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference after defeating Akari in a three-set sweep, 25-22, 25-23, 25-18 on Saturday at the Philsports Arena.

Kianna Dy played a crucial role in the win, leading the team with a game-high 17 points, all of which were recorded from successful attacks.

With this victory, F2 Logistics has tied with Creamline and Chery Tiggo for the top spot in the standings, with all three teams boasting a 2-0 win-loss record.

Head coach Regine Diego expressed her satisfaction with the team’s performance, but also emphasized that there was still room for improvement.

“I can’t be content with just a win, there are many areas that we need to work on and I expect more from my team.” she said.

In addition to Dy’s impressive performance, the Cargo Movers received contributions from various other players. Myla Pablo added 9 points to the team’s total, while Ivy Lacsina and Aby Marano recorded 8 and 6 points respectively, along with 3 blocks each.

Ara Galang, meanwhile, provided 3 points, 9 excellent digs and 6 excellent receptions. Kim Fajardo, who had 17 excellent sets, and Dawn Macandili, who recorded 14 receptions and 13 digs, also played key roles in the team’s victory.

Throughout the match, the Cargo Movers maintained their momentum and controlled the pace of the game. They sustained their lead through the third set, burying the Chargers 19-10 after a quick hit from Lacsina.

However, the Chargers did not go down without a fight. Chiara Permentilla, who was playing her first game since suffering a torn left ACL in 2019, sparked a 6-0 run for Akari that trimmed F2 Logistics’ lead to just 3 points.

Dy responded with back-to-back hits and Jessma Ramos added two consecutive aces to secure the win for the Cargo Movers.

Dindin Santiago-Manabat was once again the leading scorer for the 0-2 Chargers, with 16 points on 13 attacks, 2 blocks, and 2 aces.

No other player from the team reached double digits in scoring, with Janine Marciano finishing with 9 points.
