WEEKS into his temporary liberty, controversial actor Vhong Navarro finally broke his social media hiatus.
On Facebook and Instagram, the actor posted photos of him with his family accompanied by a message of gratitude for all the prayers for him, and a holiday greetings to all his supporters.
Navarro, an original member of the dance group the Streetboys, has also returned to Tiktok.
On the respective Tiktok entries of his fellow dancemates, Navarro made a surprise number at the tail end.
In Nicko Manalo’s “As it was” dance entry with Meynard Marcellano, Joey Andres and Christo Cruz, Navarro showed up as the dance concluded.
In another entry by Manalo where they danced to the pop hit “Me & You” by Cassie, Navarro threw confetti.
Detained in September, the comedian gained his temporary freedom after posting P1 million in bail last December 6 for the rape and acts of lasciviousness case filed by model Deniece Cornejo against him.
He was granted bailafter the court cited material inconsistencies in Cornejo’s statements about the supposed rape incident that took place in January 2014.
Since his detention at the National Bureau of Investigation and transfer to Bureau of Jail Management and Penology facility in in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City, the Streetboys launched the #JusticeForVhong and #WeBelieveVhong online campaign in support of their friend.
Navarro’s legal counsel Alma Mallonga affirmed that his temporary liberty also allows him to return to work.
His co-hosts on “It’s Showtime” since 2009 have also been very vocal about how much they missed Navarro in the show.
