SOUTH Korean girl group TWICE’s main rapper Son Chaeyoung issued a public apology on Tuesday after receiving flak for wearing a shirt with a nazi swastika design..
The KPop star claims she didn’t recognize the meaning of the symbol.
“I sincerely apologize regarding the Instagram post. I didn’t correctly recognize the meaning of the tilted swastika in the t-shirt I wore,” Chaeyoung wrote in both English and Korean.
The repentant star promised not to repeat the mistake in the future.
“I will absolutely pay attention in the future to prevent any situation similar from happening again,” she said.

The shirt from the now-deleted photo shows a graphic of a 1970s picture of Sex Pistols’ Sid Vicious who was wearing a shirt with a tilted swastika symbol.

Although it was originally a Buddhist symbol for peace, the German Nazi party defiled the emblem by making it a centerpiece of the Nazi flag.
While fans defended Chaeyoung but some netizens noticed that this wasn’t the first time the 23-year-old wore the controversial shirt.

Prior to this mess, Chaeyoung was criticized for wearing a crop top with a Q-shaped American flag and the slogan, “where we go one, we go all,” a phrase commonly used by conspiracy theorist network QAnon.
