THEATRICAL production Tanghalang Pilipino and digital payment company Visa launched a new web series that teaches Filipinos the importance of financial management.
Released on Sunday, the web series called Dami Mong Alam narrates the story of Dimasinop siblings (Rupee, Euro, Franc, and Ringgit) as they maneuver through the struggles of handling their personal finances to survive modern-day living.
The web series also imparts crucial and timely lessons on financial literacy in the age of e-commerce.
Dami Mong Alam will consist of five episodes that covers a variety of financial management topics including debt freedom, budgeting, saving habits, setting financial goals, delayed gratification, and diversified income among others.
During the first episode, Dimasinop siblings experienced problems involving their internet connectivity, power outage, and water supply disconnection because they failed to pay their bills.
Instead of prioritizing their monthly expenses, the siblings spent their budget on buying other things.
As the series progresses, the siblings will learn the value of their money and the ways to properly spend and budget their money through the guidance of T’yong Dong and other characters.
Financial expert and entrepreneur Ameena Rey-Franc will also share her insights and knowledge during the after-show interviews to help the audience gain better understanding of the financial management concepts discussed in the series.
Written by playwright Eljay Castro Deldoc and directed by Antonette Go, the web series can be viewed through DZRH’s youth-oriented program on Facebook called Tara, Peeps every Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
Viewers can also watch Dami Mong Alam for free via Tanghalang Pilipino’s Facebook and YouTube channels.
The web series will run until June 18.
Dami Mong Alam marks the third collaboration between Tanghalang Pilipino and Visa Philippines.
In 2017, they launched its first interactive play Lukot-Lukot, Bilog-Bilog in several schools around the country.
The play then became a web series in 2021 called Lukot-Lukot, Bilog-Bilog Pa More to reach more audienceship during the onset of the pandemic.
