As seen in the commercial, 09854980233, a woman (whose original name is 09102915695) was walking in heavy rain.
She then knocked on her house’s gate and requested permission from her family to enter. However, her family thinks she is a scammer because she changed her number. When she asked her neighbor for help, the person replied that she does not know her number.
TNT’s commercial has a funny way of showing how unknown numbers raise trust issues. Even if you insist that you own a legitimate number, as long as it is unfamiliar to others, you cannot be trusted.
Telecommunications companies began the process of registering SIM cards last December in compliance with the SIM Registration Act (Republic Act 11934), which was signed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in October 2022.
The law was passed in response to complaints of scam text messages containing mobile users’ names, addresses, and other personal information that have been circulating.
All mobile users are required to register their SIM cards, whether they are new or old.

THE Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
Those who provide false or fictitious information or who use a fictitious identity or fraudulent identification documents to register a SIM card will face a prison term of six months to two years or a fine of P100,000 to P300,000 or both.

Mobile users only have until April 26, 2023, to register, or else their SIM cards will be deactivated.
TNT is a cellular service under Smart Communications Inc.
As of April 9, 2023, 32.038 million SIM cards issued by Smart had been registered, according to the Department of Information and Communications Technology.
