OF the country’s 3,992 new lawyers, some are also celebrities.
On Friday, April 14, the Supreme Court released the official list of the passers of the 2022 bar examinations.
Among the happy new members of the law profession are singer-actress Tippy Dos Santos, Bb. Pilipinas Grand International 2018 Eva Psychee Patalinjug, reigning Reina Internacional del Chocolate Jerelleen Rodriguez, and 2020 Miss Philippines Air Patrixia Santos. Also joining the list is Inah Felicia Bautista Del Rosario, daughter of Senator Bong Revilla and Cavite Rep. Lani Mercado.
On Instagram, the “Dati” hitmaker’s husband Miguel Porcuna celebrated his wife’s momentous journey to being a lawyer.
“Called it. Congratulations my love! no doubt since day one! Nowhere but up, and I am excited for what’s in store for you!” Porcuna said.
Dos Santos’ mother, Happy Escuivas Dos Santos, was equally proud of her daughter who she never doubted would pass the licensure examination for lawyers.
Along with the post are photos and videos of the family’s supportive moment when their daughter’s name got included in the roster of bar passers.
Meanwhile, another feather was added to the cap of Eva Patalinjug after the Cebuana beauty queen was included in the list of the country’s new lawyers.
On Instagram, the former titleholder uploaded snaps of the bar exam results and wrote this caption: “Finally, ATTY. EVA PSYCHEE S. PATALINJUG, R.N.”
Another queen will also be adding the title of “Atty.” before her name.
In March of last year, Jerelleen Rodriguez was still enrolled in the UP College of Law when she was crowned Reina Internacional del Chocolate at the Reina Internacional del Cacao pageant held in Panama.

She made history as the first Filipina ever to win the title. Now, she can also claim the title of being one of the Philippines’ newest lawyers.
On Facebook, Rodriguez shied away from lengthy and fancy posts. Instead, she simply posted a screenshot of her name in the list of passers and captioned it with the praying emoji.
2020 Miss Philippines Air Patrixia Santos also joined the roster of beauty queens who passed the 2022 bar exams.

Just like Rodriguez, Santos posted her name as one of the successful bar examinees and said “[crying emoji] maraming salamat po ama [praying emoji].”
Santos studied in the UP College of Law as well.
Inah Del Rosario got her father Sen. Revilla emotional on the phone when she broke the news that she is now a lawyer.
On social media, the Senator posted the video of the tearful moment as the family celebrated her entry into the legal profession.
In another post, the wrote how he could not contain his happiness at his daughter’s achievement.
“Alam ko that you did this partly because of me and for me. Lalo pa at alam ko ang pinagdaanan mo na pinagsabay ang pagiging ina at ang pag-aaral ng abogasya. All the hard work has paid off! Galing!” he said.
The passing rate for the 2022 bar exams was 43.47 percent, which is much lower than the previous exam’s passing rate of 72.28 percent.
The top five examinees from the latest batch of lawyers came from the University of the Philippines College of Law. The rest of the top 10 consisted of graduates from the University of San Carlos, San Beda College Alabang, and Ateneo de Manila University.
