SINCE the pandemic, social networking site TikTok has grown tremendously in terms of users and viewership due to the various content and features the app is offering to its market.

According to recent statistical data, the Philippines has over 42 million TikTok users by the end of 2022. Due to its wide reach, it is undeniable that the popular video sharing site has a colossal impact on its viewers, considering the assortment of content that TikTok hosts since its emergence.

While most users share supercuts of their daily lives through mini vlogs, dances, and other videos, there are notable young people who utilize the platform to inform, influence, and educate.

Get to know these five Gen Z and millennial influencers who use TikTok to spread good vibes, share accurate information, and promote their advocacies.

They show that TikTok has more to offer than viral dances and trendy OOTDs.

Ayn Bernos

This loud and proud morena beauty is one of the most popular content creators on TikTok. Aside from helping youngsters with English vocabulary and syntax, Rousanne Marie Bernos, also known as Teacher Ayn, produces content that helps morenas become more vocal about their skin color.

Her advocacy led Ayn to launch two business ventures with the same goal — a clothing line called Morena the Label and a cosmetic brand called Kayu Beauty.

She’s a breath of fresh air in a society where many are obsessed about getting fair skin. 

Riyan Portuguez

Mental health matters! Through millennial psychologist Riyan Portuguez’s videos, TikTok users are engaged and informed about the importance of taking care of their mental well-being.

This TikToker also uses the platform to debunk and explain psychology-related myths. Riyan also provides self-care tips, especially for Filipinos’ mental health.

Arshie Larga

Who would have thought pharmaceutical information and TikTok would be a good combination?

TikToker Arshie Larga is one of the content creators who utilize the platform to inform Filipinos about common medicine and pharmacy-related topics.

Through TikTok, Arshie explains common drug uses, functions, and precautionary measures for safer drug consumption.
