LET’S see more of Barbie’s world with the latest Barbie movie teaser trailer!
Warner Bros. released the second teaser trailer of the movie Barbie and gave viewers a longer look at the world that the titular character inhabits.
The movie is based on the famous-selling Barbie doll by Mattel, and is directed by Greta Gerwig, notably known for the films Lady Bird and Little Women.
The first Barbie trailer dropped in December and was a parody of Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. It showed the arrival of the statuesque Barbie, played by Margot Robbie in the retro onepiece swimsuit similar to what the first Barbie ever wore back in 1959, in a world inhabited by young girls. The next scene showed the girls ditching the baby dolls they used to play with.
Short footage of Barbie standing in front of Barbieland and partying, as well as of the two Kens, were shown next.

The second teaser trailer gives viewers a longer look at Barbie’s very pink world. One of the scenes shows Barbie taking off her pink heels and still standing on tiptoe, just like the Barbie dolls sold in stores.
Other scenes show Barbie at the beach meeting the other Barbies, who have diverse looks and are not just all blonde and blue-eyed. She also says hello to the other Kens, played by Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu, who don’t seem to be getting along.
The Barbies and the Kens party and fight at the beach, and show that they all have different characters.
Liu plays the athletic type of Ken, while Issa Rae plays the President Barbie.

Robbie’s Barbie appears poised to go off to an adventure, as one scene shows her driving towards a sign that says “Real World This Way.” Her car flips, and she is then surprised to see Gosling’s Ken riding with her.
Vogue earlier said the film will revolve around Barbie being forced into exile for not being perfect. She sets off on an adventure in the real world where she discovers that perfection is found within.
With Great Gerwig in the director’s seat, audiences expect the film to take a feminist approach, just like her previous works.

The film has an ensemble cast. Aside from Robbie playing the titular role, several other actresses will be playing different versions of Barbie. They include: Issa Rae, Alexandra Shipp, Dua Lipa, Ana Cruz Kayne, Emma Mackey, Sharon Rooney, Hari Nef, Rita Arya, Nicola Coughlan, and Kate McKinnon.
Aside from Gosling and Liu, the actors that have Ken roles include: Kingsley Ben-Adir, Scott Evans, Michael Cera, and Ncuti Gatwa.
Barbie’s friend, Midge, will be played by Emerald Fennel. The humans will be played by America Ferrera and Ariana Greenbelt. Other characters will be played by Will Ferrel, Connor Swindells, and Jamie Demitriou.
Helen Mirren will narrate the film.
Barbie will be released in cinemas July 21, 2023.
