‘Squid Game’ star Wi Ha Jun to visit PH in May for fan meet

SOUTH Korean actor Wi Ha-jun, who is best known for his roles in Squid Game and Little Women, will be coming to the Philippines in May to meet his Filipino fans.  

Bench, a local clothing company, has announced that the 31-year-old actor will host his first-ever fan event in the country on May 21.

Gameplay with Wi Ha Jun will be held at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City.

“Better get your hearts ready ’cause our #GlobalBENCHSetter, #WiHaJun is set to give you all the K-lig feels on May 21, 2023 at the New Frontier Theater,” the brand wrote.

It also said that the mechanics of the fan meet would be announced soon.

The company first revealed Wi as its brand ambassador in May last year.

Wi’s fans said they were looking forward to meeting him soon.

Other Filipino Wivelys asked the company if they could make the tickets affordable for the general public.

Some fans also expressed their willingness to volunteer for projects related to the fan meet.

Wi began his acting career in 2012. He is well known for his roles in several South Korean drama series and films, including Bad Guys Always Die (2015), Anarchist from Colony (2017), Something in the Rain (2018), Romance is a Bonus Book (2019), 18 Again (2020), Bad and Crazy (2022), and Little Women (2022). 

His breakthrough performance in the hit Netflix series Squid Game in 2021 catapulted him to international fame. Wi played the role of Hwang Jun Ho, a police detective who entered the Squid Game venue pretending to be a staff member in search of his missing brother.
