Manila, Philippines — See you next year, Ed!

Award-winning singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran announced that he would be away from the spotlight for now.

“Signing off now until 2023. See you in the new year. Much love, Ed x,” he wrote on Instagram.

Fans subsequently expressed their continued support for Sheeran and said that they would just wait for his comeback.

“You deserve it Teddy, “

commented one fan. “Relax and enjoy your time with your family and friends 💛 I’ll be here waiting for you, can’t wait for Subtract x,” A check of his Instagram showed that he had wiped all posts from his account, except for the one where he announced that he would be taking a break.

Prior his decision to step out of the limelight, Sheeran was named Best Male and Best British Solo Artist for his hit song “Bad Habits,” which was the most-played song across Global’s radio stations in 2021.
