Asia’s Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo concluded her concert on Friday as a celebration of her 20th year in the entertainment industry.
The concert gave Popsters a ride into a roller coaster of emotions – from feeling hyped, nostalgic, and to feeling emotional – with all the powerful and charismatic performances of the Tala singer.
Let’s take a look back on some of the highlights of that night to remember held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

TikTok dance craze
TikTok videos have invaded netizens’ feed at the height of the pandemic. The platform became a pastime for netizens, with many of them doing a TikTok challenge where they will dance to a particular song.
One of the songs that became an international dance craze is Geronimo’s Tala. Released in 2016, the song’s popularity exploded not only in the platform as it could also be heard almost anywhere in the country, particularly in various events like those at work and school.
K-pop artists who visited the country were also up to the Tala challenge. Among those who did not escape from the craze were boy band WINNER and girl group Momoland.
Of course, Popsters cannot miss the chance to hear it live during the concert. However, the viral dance choreography was not performed on stage.

Fans have mixed reactions on the new dance as some gave thumbs up to it, while others still prefer the original one.
Another TikTok challenge that made rounds on the internet is the Popstar’s Dati Dati. Released in 2022, the song was performed during Geronimo’s opening act.

Sa Iyo 2023 version
Hearing Sa Iyo would probably make someone realize how long it has been since they first listened to it in 2013.
The singer recalled how nervous and shy she was when she first entered the showbiz industry in a Facebook post in June 2020 where she shared the song’s music video.
“Pero this was just the beginning at sobra akong thankful for all the blessings that came into my life. At para sa mga naka appreciate ng Sa Iyo, stay tuned baka mag refreshed version coming soon para inyo,” she wrote.
Who knew that this could actually happen? During the concert, Popsters witnessed a new vibe to the song, probably aside from the nostalgic feeling they felt when it was played.

Twitter user @iamzellieee said that the Sa Iyo performance “speaks about evolution” as it transitioned from its original “sweet” vibe to a “hot” one.

Asia Popstar Royalty and Songbird’s duet
Making the night more iconic is the joint performance of Asia’s Popstar Royalty and Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid.
The two belted out Geronimo’s Narito and If Only, giving the audience goosebumps as their soulful vocals and high notes complemented one another.
Everyone, netizen @VandBfw said, “The queens.”

The Guidicellis’ moment
The crowd went gaga when the Popstar mentioned her husband, actor Matteo Guidicelli. Geronimo shared with the audience the definition behind Guidicelli’s name which means “God’s gift.”
The two shared the stage together as they performed Jim Brickman’s The Gift.
“[K]aya pala favorite nya ung the gift kasi si matteo ung God’s gift nya,” netizen @dakota_gg tweeted.

Loud screams were heard when Guidicelli asked for a kiss from his wife.
“Parang kiss lang tuwang-tuwa kayo?” Geronimo jested.
A song for parents
An emotional Sarah was seen on stage when she performed Wency Cornejo’s Habang May Buhay, while her fond moments with her parents were shown on screen.
Geronimo shared how her father taught her to work hard and be strong.
“Naalala ko po every morning at nine o’clock, bumabangon kami. Gustung-gusto ko pong bumabangon nang umaga para mag-ensayo. Pinapaakyat niya po ako sa lamesita namin at dun po ako nagpe-perform na feeling ko ‘yun po ang stage ko,” she recalled.
“Ako po kasi mahina po ang loob ko. Pero siya po ang nagturo sa akin na maging matatag, maging malakas, lalong-lalo na po sa pagharap sa laban ng buhay,” she continued.
The rift between the Popstar and her parents rooted back from her controversial wedding with Guidicelli in 2020 as the former’s mom reportedly did not approve the union.
