POPSTAR princess Sarah Geronimo officially marked her 20th year in showbiz by thanking the people instrumental in the success of her career, especially her estranged parents Divine and Delfin Geronimo.
As seen in a video uploaded on social media, the actress-singer was given a simple celebration by her management Viva Artists Agency.
Geronimo spoke at the event and shared her message of gratitude.
She thanked the Lord for giving her 20 wonderful years in showbiz, as well as everyone who supported her for two decades, including her fans and parents.
“At sa aking pong mga magulang, sa aking Mommy Divine at Daddy Delfin gwapo, sa aking family thank you. Sa aking mga fur babies, thank you. My VIVA family thank you, ABS-CBN family thank you, and my husband, thank you, my love, Matteo Guidicelli,” she said, while holding her cake.
Family feud
It can be recalled that Geronomo had a falling out with family after her secret wedding to Guidicelli on February 20, 2020 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Bonifacio Global City. Her parents were not invited to the ceremony.
Divine was reported to have rushed to the venue to confront the people and hurl harsh words against their decision to tie the knot secretly.
The wedding was the biggest showbiz controversy in the country right before the COVID-19 lockdown was implemented in March 2020.
Geronimo’s decision to get married was seen by many as the pop singer’s act of rebellion against her parents, who were very protective of her, especially with her love affairs.
In October last year, Geronimo penned a social media post whereire she apologized to her family for her decisions in life.

During her anniversary celebration, Geronimo received a message of support from Viva’s big boss himself, Vic del Rosario.
Del Rosario wished for more blessings for Geronimo, including a baby in the future.

Sarah’s rise to the top
Geronimo’s 20-year career was a testament that hard work, passion and dedication will yield success.
The public first had a glimpse of Geronimo when she became the grand champion of IBC’s Star for a Night.
In 2004, the singer moved to ABS-CBN, where she starred in her first teleserye, “Sarah the Teen Princess.” She also became a regular host of the long-running Kapamilya Sunday variety program “A.S.A.P.”
Through the years, she was able to elevate herself and went on to do projects across all genres and produce hit after hit after hit.
Almost every song she released went to the top of the charts. Her danceable tracks such as “Kilometro,” “Tala” and her latest hit “Dati Dati” became pop megahits that generated millions of views on YouTube and streams on Spotify. Along with the songs, her dance steps became a hit on social media, especially on Tiktok.
Her concerts were always sold out as well.
Geronimo’s movies also became blockbuster hits. These include “A Very Special Love,” “It Takes a Man and a Woman,” and “Finally Found Someone.”
