AS the famous Jose Rizal saying goes, the youth is the future of the nation. They are the future leaders and movers that will secure the Philippines a seat at the table of digital success.
Powered by the Filipino social entertainment app Kumu, RepublicAsia Media collaborated with iAcademy to prepare the future generation of digital and technology practitioners in the country.
This partnership was sealed on Friday, April 28, at the iAcademy building in Makati City.
Through this partnership, students will be given access to a pool of experts on journalism, content creation, data science, social media algorithms, and online entrepreneurship.
This will provide students with a perspective that will guide advocates to standardize practices and encourage ethos in the industry, helping them lead the future of digital media in the country.
They will also acquire tips on how they can level up their digital skills, which will help them become future influencers, online entrepreneurs, or the next tech giants in the country.
“Students will be the leaders later on. The things that you do will set the trend for future generations. I’m seeing [a] bigger mission for Kumu. Educational partnership is the key to success,” Kumu co-founder and chief of community James Rumohr said.

RepublicAsia and iAcademy will be hosting a workshop titled “Lead Like a Pro: Unlocking the Potential of Future Tech and Digital Media.”
This intends to lay the foundation for the next generation of tech and digital practitioners.
Students will be involved in a roundtable discussion and seminar featuring field experts.

For this partnership, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed by Reluao, Rumohr, and iAcademy chief operating officer Raquel Perez.
Also present during the event were RepublicAsia directors John Frederick Cruz and Ken Martin Gardiola.
The workshop will take place on May 12 at the iAcademy Nexus campus.
While the event will prioritize iAcademy students, Lead Like a Pro will be available for the general public through live streaming.
