THE much anticipated video game based on the popular Lego toys is finally available on various gaming platforms.
LEGO 2K Drive is an open-world kart racing three-dimensional video game developed by 2K and published by Visual Concepts.
Released on May 20 (Philippine time), the game allows players to explore the world of Bricklandia.
“Race anywhere, play with anyone, build your dream rides, and defeat a cast of wild racing rivals for the coveted Sky Trophy!” read the short blurb for the video game.

A glimpse of the gameplay
In the game, LEGO 2K Drive players can build their transforming vehicles brick by brick and show off their driving skills in racetracks, off-road terrain, and open waters.
LEGO 2K Drive also features a Story Mode game, where players can jump into single-player and cup series tournaments and work their way up the ranks.

They can ace the game by honing their drifting, boosting, and jumping skills and master the use of power ups to trample down opponents.
Players can build and revamp their own vehicles using the classic lego-building technique to construct cars and boats.
They may also modify any vehicle in their garage and take their revamped collection on a new drive.

LEGO 2K Drive is available for purchase on Steam and Epic Games for PC and Nintendo Switch for P2,299. Meanwhile, it retails at P3,894 for the Xbox and PlayStation.
Some reviews
The London-based news organization The Guardian described the LEGO 2K Drive as a “wonderful racing game” that will surely leave kids smiling as they play.
But while it mentioned that the game is solidly built for a developing series, it said it lacks “witty scripts” that will surely boost the gaming experience.
Online video game reviewer IGN said LEGO 2K Drive is highly similar to video games The Crew 2 and Mario Kart, but it also praised the game for how players can freely express their creative freedom while immersing themselves in its world, just like the original LEGO idea.
“It’s one that embraces the total creative freedom real LEGO affords like few games before it, with an incredible custom vehicle creation tool that’s just about worth the price of admission alone,” it wrote in a review.
