DROP everything now and meet fellow Filipino Swifties for a listening party this July!
In celebration of the release of Taylor Swift’s much-awaited re-recording of her third studio album, a local fan club of the American singer will be holding a Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) listening party on July 7 at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall.
The Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) An Enchanted Launch Party is presented by T-Party Philippines in collaboration with SM Mall of Asia.
The fan project will be co-presented by several Taylor Swift fan organizations in the country including Club Red PH, Taylor Swift Secret Session Philippines, and Taylor Swift Facts (@blessedswifty on twitter).
“It feels like 2010 all over again and we cannot contain our excitement to celebrate the release of Taylor’s re-recording of her self-written third studio album Speak Now,” T-Party wrote in a Facebook post.
Aside from the listening party, the fan project will also include various activities for Filipino Swifties, such as photo opportunities, games, and live performances from their fellow Taylor Swift fans and Filipino drag queens.
The listening party will be open to the public for free. The program proper will begin at 3 p.m. while booths and shops will be open starting 12 noon.

The re-recording of Swift’s self-written album Speak Now will be out on July 7 and will feature six extra songs from the vault.
The album was originally released in October 2010 and is known for its confessional lyrics and features a blend of country and pop sounds.
The tracks included in the album are centered on themes such as self-reflection, love, heartbreak, personal growth, regrets, and immense human longing.
Some notable songs in the original Speak Now album include Dear John, Back To December, Mean, Sparksfly, Enchanted, Long Live, and Ours.
The story behind Taylor’s Version
The country-turned-pop singer has been taking her fans on a walk down the memory lane with the release of the re-recorded versions of her previous albums.
Speak Now will be the third Taylor’s Version, following Fearless TV and Red TV, which were both released in 2021.
But behind the success of the Taylor’s Version albums is an artist’s struggle to regain control over her catalog of songs over the years.
This came after Swift’s former manager Scooter Braun sold her masters to another company, Shamrock Holdings, for $300 million dollars. Braun had bought the ownership of her six earlier releases, namely her self-titled debut album, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, and reputation.
Unable to purchase the master recordings of her back catalog, she decided to re-record her albums so that she would own the copyright to these new recordings.
Through this, she will have full control over managing the means, method of production, and distribution of her work.
“Artists should own their own work for so many reasons,” the singer said in a 2021 Instagram post. “But the most screamingly obvious one is that the artist is the only one who really knows that body of work.”
