Pinoy student commuters, can you relate to this meme?

by Christina Indon

Does a stress-inducing jeepney ride make you feel dazed and confused? Does the public transportation in Metro Manila make you feel “cheated” or “dehumanized”?

Well, you are not alone because Yani Villarosa’s tulala sa jeep meme is proof of that.

On March 28, the content creator tweeted a set of two stitched pictures with a caption: “in my tulala sa jeep era again”.

The first picture, which looked like a candid shot, showed a distressed Villarosa looking dazed while riding shotgun. The second photo is a “glow up” version that showed her dressed to the nines.

The post spread like wildfire after tweeps shared it with captions that expressed how they could relate to her thoughts.

“Buhay commuter nga naman,” said one netizen who juxtaposed Villarosa’s photos to his.

The old picture went viral in 2021 when Villarosa uploaded it on Facebook post, saying not all influencers are sosyal.

Villarosa, who goes by the Twitter handle @yanihatesu, is known for hilarious memes, video skits, and K-Pop content. She gained a steady following because of her witty content.

So, if commuting in the Philippines seems like a curse without an antidote, turn to Villarosa’s hilarious meme, which, we hope, passes off as temporary medicine for this recurring mess.
