Pinoy ‘Bejeweled’ dance creator gets concert hat from Taylor Swift

by Joanna Deala

IT is already an exhilarating experience for fans to be able to attend their idol’s concert.

But what more if they get to receive a present from their idol and watch her dance the moves they created?

This one-for-the-books moment happened to Filipino Swiftie and digital content creator Mikael Arellano during Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour concert in Philadelphia on Saturday.

Arellano is also behind the viral dance move for Swift’s song Bejeweled, which became a craze on TikTok.

In an Instagram post, Arellano shared a clip of him jamming to Swift’s hit 22, when the singer-songwriter walked towards him from the stage to give him the hat she was wearing. She even held his hand.

In response, Arellano blew her a kiss.

“Living my best life,” he wrote in the caption.

He also shared in an Instagram story a photo of the hat that bears Swift’s signature.

It has been part of Swift’s The Eras Tour to give away to a member of the audience the black hat that she wears when she performs 22

Signature dance move

But that wasn’t all that happened.

In another angle of that scene that was uploaded by Twitter user @swiftieboston, the 33-year-old singer-songwriter was seen doing Arellano’s Bejeweled choreography as she danced her way to him to give him the hat.

Of course, Arellano didn’t miss the chance to perform his own dance move live from the crowd as Swift sang Bejeweled.

The 21-year-old Arellano uploaded his “Bejeweled” choreography on TikTok last year, where he was seen dancing to the song’s lyrics, “Best believe I’m still bejeweled / When I walk in the room / I can still make the whole place shimmer.”

The notable part was the up and down movement of his hands at the word “shimmer.”

It quickly spread on the video-sharing app.

Swift also performed the viral dance in her tour, which opened in Arizona last March.

An elated Arellano said, “I BARELY SLEPT!!!”

The Eras Tour started its three-night Philadelphia stop on Friday, May 12. Swift will then head to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts on May 19.

Joy for fellow Swiftie

Arellano’s co-Swifties were quick to express how happy they were for him and said he deserved the special moment.

Taylor Nation also told the digital creator, “We love you and everything you do Mikael!” as they quote-retweeted the video.
